Who is GOD?

The Bible reveals GOD as the only Infinite and Eternal Being, having no beginning and no ending.  He is Creator and Sustainer of all things.  He is the Supreme Personal Intelligence, and Righteous Ruler of His universe.  He is life, and therefore, the only source of life.  Read  John 5:26.

Man is natural and cannot know GOD by wisdom.  “Can you discover the depths of GOD?”  Read Job 11:7 .  GOD is a person and can be known only by revelation.  In the Old Testament He revealed Himself to and through His prophets.  In the New Testament He reveals Himself through His Son Jesus Christ.  Read Heb 1:1-3.

The Existence of GOD          Read Heb 11:5-6

The Personality of GOD          Read 1 Thess 1:9

The Nature of GOD          Read 1 John 4:8

The Grace of GOD          Read Eph 2:8

The Trinity of GOD          Read Matt 3:16-17

A Portrait of GOD:  God is

Blessed & Only Sovereign                                   Control & power are God’s alone

King of kings                                                      No king has more power or authority

Lord of lords                         God possesses absolute superiority over all powers, both human and divine

Immortal                               God alone has inherent immortality; ours comes from Him

Unapproachable light                                          God’s glory is blinding

Unseen (invisible)                  God is so Holy that no one can see him and live

Worthy of Honor                    God is to be honored for who He is and what He has done

Eternal domination (power)    God’s power continues from eternity to eternity; it has no end

“How to Discover Jesus” from Love Worth Finding Ministries

The following is from “How to Pray for America”                           “Love Worth Finding Ministries” in Memphis, TN

Psychologists have long known that every person has two great longings and inward needs. The first is to be loved, and the second is to love. But when pressures and heartaches come into our lives, many give up any hope of ever finding love.

The tragedy is that we often look in the wrong places to fill this deep, deep need and longing. Some substitute lust for love. Others pursue material things or superficial relationships – all in the futile attempt to fill a God-shaped vacuum in the human heart.

But there is good news! The Bible says, “For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life” (John 3:16). On the cross of Christ, God’s mighty love was revealed and offered unconditionally to all who would be saved.

Do you long to know this mighty love? Then I need to ask you the most important question you’ll ever be asked: Do you know beyond a shadow of a doubt that God loves you, that your sins are forgiven, and that you are saved and on your way to heaven?

The great news is, you can know! Let me share with you how to discover the answer.

Admit Your Sin

First, you must admit that you are a sinner. The Bible says, “There is none righteous, no, not one” (Romans 3:10). “For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God” (Romans 3:23).

It is our sin that separates us from God and from fulfilling our deepest needs and longings. Sin is an offense against God that carries a serious penalty. According to Romans 6:23, “The wages of sin is death [eternal separation from the love and mercy of God.”

Abandon Your Efforts

Second, you must abandon any efforts to save yourself. If we could save ourselves, Jesus’ death would have been unnecessary!

Even “getting religion” cannot get you to heaven. The Bible says it is “not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to His [God’s] mercy He saved us” (Titus 3:5). Salvation is by God’s grace, “not of works, lest any man should boast” (Ephesians 2:8-9).

Acknowledge Christ’s Payment

What you cannot do for yourself, Jesus Christ has done for you! “But God demonstrates His love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us” (Romans 5:8). He died on the cross for you and then rose from the dead to prove that His payment was acceptable to God. But you must acknowledge and believe this fact. “Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved” (Acts 16:31).

Accept Christ as Your Savior

Salvation is God’s gift to you. “The gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord” (Romans 6:23). When someone offers you a priceless gift, the wisest thing you can do is accept it! This very moment, you can receive Christ’s gift of salvation by sincerely praying this simple prayer from your heart:

Dear God, I know that I am a sinner. I know that You love me and want to save me. Jesus, I believe You are the Son of God, who died on the cross to pay for my sins. I believe God raised You from the dead. I now turn from my sin and, by faith, receive You as my personal Lord and Savior. Come into my heart, forgive my sins, and save me, Lord Jesus. In Your name I pray, Amen.

Friend, if you have not yet made a decision for Christ, I urge you to receive Him today. You’ll be eternally glad to know our Lord.  After you receive Him, ask Him through prayer to help you learn from His WORD what to do daily to live as a Christian and glorify Him.

How to Pray for America (and Website)*

Dr. Adrian Rogers said in this message that “Only prayer can hold back the floodtide of sin and God’s judgement and release the cleansing, healing hand of God”.   First, Dr. Rogers said we must “Pray with Serious Concentration”.  Please see Daniel 9:3 .  We are to pray sincerely with every inch of our being as individuals, as a church body, even as a nation.  But not just any prayer, it must be prayer and fasting.

Secondly, we must “Pray with Sincere Confession”.  Sin brings judgement; confession brings forgiveness.  Daniel confessed his personal sin and the sin of his nation.  See Daniel 9:4-7 and Daniel 9:20.  If we want to see this nation turn towards God, it is vital that each person reading this go individually before God and confess personal sin.  See what He tells us in 1 John 1:9 .  There is no sin-none that is beyond God’s forgiveness.  Every sin is covered under the blood of Jesus.  Daniel also prayed for God to forgive the sin of a nation.

Finally, “Pray with Spiritual Concern”.  Daniel’s concerns when he prayed were the removal of guilt and the restoration of glory.  See Daniel 9:16-19.  It is prayer time in America and for America.  See James 5:16.  Prayer is our greatest resource, and God is our only true hope.  Will you pray with Serious Concentration, Sincere Confession, and Spiritual Concern?

Trace State Park Belden, MS

Trace State Park offers a quiet, natural retreat located just west of Tupelo, MS.  Trace State Park is located 9 miles West of Tupelo, MS and 8 miles East of Pontotoc, MS on MS Hwy 6. Signs are present on MS Hwy 6, the park is located approximately 2 miles off of MS Hwy 6 on Faulkner Road in Pontotoc County. Trace State Park offers a variety of outdoor activities ranging from fishing and water sports to exploring miles of secluded nature trails. There are two campgrounds on the water’s edge of the lake.  Eagle Ridge campground and Deer Run campground have water, sewer, and 50 amp services.

We had the pleasure of meeting Steve and Sue D’Aubin of Baton Rouge, LA.  They were camped in their beautiful 40′ coach and were delightful to talk and share with.  They were headed south to Percy Quinn State Park near McComb.  We also met and shared with Larry and Barbara Blaylock of Saltillo, MS.  They were attending a Good Sam Rally at the park.  I enjoyed exchanging camping stories with Larry.  I also met David Morgan of Ecru, MS.  We talked about the Great State of Montana.  David’s son-in-law sent me an email asking about Montana.  Like Joe “Montana” and I, his son-in-law has a love for Montana as well.

We really enjoyed this State Park.  The weather was hot and thunderstorms roamed the area.  We still enjoyed it despite the weather.
