Trace State Park offers a quiet, natural retreat located just west of Tupelo, MS.  Trace State Park is located 9 miles West of Tupelo, MS and 8 miles East of Pontotoc, MS on MS Hwy 6. Signs are present on MS Hwy 6, the park is located approximately 2 miles off of MS Hwy 6 on Faulkner Road in Pontotoc County. Trace State Park offers a variety of outdoor activities ranging from fishing and water sports to exploring miles of secluded nature trails. There are two campgrounds on the water’s edge of the lake.  Eagle Ridge campground and Deer Run campground have water, sewer, and 50 amp services.

We had the pleasure of meeting Steve and Sue D’Aubin of Baton Rouge, LA.  They were camped in their beautiful 40′ coach and were delightful to talk and share with.  They were headed south to Percy Quinn State Park near McComb.  We also met and shared with Larry and Barbara Blaylock of Saltillo, MS.  They were attending a Good Sam Rally at the park.  I enjoyed exchanging camping stories with Larry.  I also met David Morgan of Ecru, MS.  We talked about the Great State of Montana.  David’s son-in-law sent me an email asking about Montana.  Like Joe “Montana” and I, his son-in-law has a love for Montana as well.

We really enjoyed this State Park.  The weather was hot and thunderstorms roamed the area.  We still enjoyed it despite the weather.
